Hi everyone,
This blog will not go down in history as the most frequent updated one. Thats the only thing we will know for sure! But hey here I am again.
The second week of the year is in the books and I’m looking forward to a new year together with Stan and the team. Last year was a good one. Stan really pushed the whole year and he got up to top 50 AGAIN. He played some great tennis at moments during the year. He lost matches with watchpoints and break up in the third so it could have been even beter with a little bit of luck. But I don’t like to talk about luck. Im a fan of working hard and earning your luck.
But what we can talk about is being unlucky when twisting his foot last match of the year last year at watchpoint in Metz. That was bad luck. And it was a little bit worse than we expected so the pre-season has been somewhat modified. We spent time in Monaco as usual in the pre-season. We did some good tennis and fitness blocs and here we are in Melbourne. Ready to fight!!!
Good to Great Tennis Academy have 4 players in the main draw. Good luck to Victorya Tomova, Botic van de Zandschulp, Gael Monfils and Stan off course. Keep your fingers crossed for the team down under. We are all gaining great insights that we will bring home to the academy.
It’s happening a lot around the world and so also in the world of tennis. ATP/WTA is doing a great job trying to increase price money for ALL players and making the life on tour good for everyone. They are also involved in contributing to the whole eco system in tennis. To give also to the smaller countries and less ranked players is a big topic for us. The world is not fair but as you know we think is wrong that the 4 Grand Slam countries are making that much profit out of the grand slams without giving more back to the players from other countries. Grand Slams are owned by the federations and is running under ITF (not ATP). They can do a lot more for the players from the other countries! Lets see if we can also push and be a voice here to make the playing field more even.
2023 was a tough year around the world with way too much hate and aggression. Lets make 2024 a more friendlier one.
